How would you describe your style aesthetic?

Very creative. I consider myself a sculpture when it comes to draping. I have the ability to look at fabric and textiles and know what I’m going to make out that fabric. Once you have an eye for fashion and understand textiles, you identify which fabrics drape, hang and feel the best for certain designs.

What inspired you to be a designer?

My grandmother introduced me to a sewing machine at a tender age and by modeling in junior high school I saw that I could make the clothes 10 times better. I would always alter my school clothes my parents bought me and everyone wanted to buy what I was wearing.

Who is your fashion icon and why?

Prince. He broke fashion rules and walked that fine line and he lived by the color purple and he’s from my hometown of Minnneapolis, Minn. I enjoyed how he style was mysterious and kept you guessing. That’s what I tend to do is keep the audience wanting more.

What celebrity—living or dead—or fictional character would you like to dress and what would you make for them?

Whitney Houston. She was more then a celebrity I followed her style closely & her voice transcended beyond music and inspired fashion, I would love to design her pantsuits and bustiers of bold, bright bright colors and prints that match her voice and will make you smile and brighten your day once you seen her on stage.
