When a massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico destroyed wildlife and devastated the region’s economy, fashion designer Erin Boyle knew at some point she would have to give voice to her views about what happened.
Her BP Collection, which was showcased at Hartford Fashion Week, was the artistic embodiment of her observations and views on the 2010 oil spill.
In 2010, the oil rig Deepwater Horizon, which was leased by the oil company BP– was destroyed in an explosion of oil and gas that killed 11 crew members and led to the worst oil spill the U.S. has ever seen.
