There were plenty of crowns and sashes in the standing-room only crowds Saturday evening, Feb. 11, at Art Hearts Fashion in New York City. And there was plenty of glamour as well sitting in the seats along the runway.

And this probably was to be expected. The spotlight for the evening was shining on Mac Duggal, who is the go-to designer for pageant contestants, prom-goers, and other fans of glamous looking for gorgeous gowns with bling and an eye-popping wow-factor.

Surprisingly enough, this show for Mac Duggal’s fall winter 2017 was his first jaunt into New York Fashion Week.

The runway collection held other surprises as well.

Yes, there were those gowns that you’re likely to see at Miss America or Miss USA competitions.

Mac Duggal also offered a lot of shimmer, bejeweled adorments, and a lot of shake and flutter.

But surprisingly enough was that just as was that in addition to the expected gowns, there was the unexpected. This collection from Mac Duggal featured a lot of floor-length capes, perfect for swirling, and unconventional slacks, shorts, and even body suits.

The capes– and sometimes trains– were key to giving these items their glamourous and full silhouettes. And although not your typical look on a pageant stage or the prom, the slacks and shorts were definitely attention-getting and would make any contestant or prom-goer standout in a crowd.

The body suits offered by Mac Duggal, often with a lace overlay with a lace cape, however, might give prom chaperones and pageant directors apoplexy. Gorgeous as these garments were, they might be too sexy for high school or the pageant spotlight.

However, at an elegant gala or a red carpet event, they are sure to turn a few heads for Mac Duggal’s older customers.

Mac Duggal also showcased his Fabulouss! Line, which is a prom collection for plus-sized teens. Whether or not the gowns were intended for plus-sized teens or not, they were gorgeous with stunning silhouettes and luxurious fabrics. Anyone would feel pretty in these garments.

The collection unveiled in New York City for fall-winter is sure to keep Mac Duggal’s standing as the go-to designer for glamour.
