When you think of swim fashion, you typically don’t think of art or concept.
You think of beauty or you think of sexy.
But The 8th Continent, which showed at Art Hearts Fashion Miami on July 22, not only brought the beauty and the sexy, it brought “the idea.”
The collection presented on the runway at the Funkshion Tent along Collins Avenue featured all shades of yellow and gold and little else.
On the collection’s website, www.t-8-c.com, the line explains it is inspired by “inspired by Sunshine, as well as sensuality and everything that shimmers, which symbolizes fortune and power in Japan.”
It was gorgeous collection that made me think of James Bond’s “Goldfinger,” science fiction films from the 1950s, and Egyptian royalty, but with a definite modern silhouette for the fearless woman of 2017.
There was clearly a good deal of thought that went into the collection that was just as stylish as it was artful.
