At a fashion show, a still camera backstage is typically a fly on the wall.
The photographer captures the hard-working creatives making show the fashion begins on time and the designer is proud of their work. And if the photographer is doing his/her job correctly, no one takes notice of them.
But at Society Fashion Week on Feb. 10 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City, my camera– not only captured the candid moments– but elicited requests by staff and models to capture the models in their hair, makeup, and clothing prior to heading upstairs to the ballroom to walk across the runway.
Here is a mix of candid and posed shots before the fashion grabbed the spotlight to the guests sitting along the catwalk.
