When you see them compete for a crown, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, business attire, athleisure wear, and swimsuits are the uniforms of necessity. But what do titleholders wear when the sash and crown are stashed away.
Meet Karla Aponte Roque, Miss Southington of the Miss America Organization.
Roque described her personal style as “classic and fun when spending time with friends. I love solid colors that can be mixed and matched for a night out. I love wearing dresses and skirts to evening events.”
When she is taking it easy, Roque said of her personal style, “Comfort is key! In a casual setting, I like to wear feminine jeans that can be dressed up with heels or down with sneakers. As someone who is always cold, sweaters and cardigans are my go-tos.”
Titleholders in any pageant system interested in being featured in “Stashing the sash fashion,” email mchaiken@ctfashionmag.com.
