A little crown power was put to work on Tuesday, Dec. 18 to brighten up the Christmas of some Connecticut children.
An anonymous donor continued a 20 year tradition at Walmart on Farmington Ave., Bristol with the purchase of 100 bicycles for children served by the Department of Children and Families of the state of Connecticut.
Miss Connecticut Bridget Oei and Miss Connecticut’s Outstanding Teen Morgan Mancini put on their crown and sash and braved the cold to put the final touches on filling the back of a truck with the new bicycles. And once the Miss America Organization representatives put their fingerprints on the effort, they followed the truck to DCF to deliver the toys to children who might not otherwise have gifts this holiday.
