The fascinating aspect of fashion is how different shapes, adornments, textures, and fabrics can create a rainbow of different kinds of garments.
Even when constrained by the same hue, woman have the opportunity to find a dress that reflects their tastes and personalities.
A case in point was the opening of the Miss Connecticut USA pageant in which Hamden, Conn.’s Acacia Courtney was selected as the new Miss representative of the organization and New Haven, Conn.’s Kaliegh Garris was selected as Miss Connecticut Teen USA.
As the 25 Miss and Teen contestants walked across the stage of The Palace in Stamford, Conn. for the opening of the final competition on Saturday, Jan. 5, every woman wore a garment in a cheerful shade of blue. The Misses demonstrated how one color could represent many different shades of elegance and poise.
The Teens demonstrated how glamorous and age-appropriate an abundance of blue could be.
Courtney now heads to the Miss USA pageant and Garris will compete at Miss USA Teen.
This is what the audience saw as the evening began Jan. 6.
