When you see them compete for a crown, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, business attire, and swimsuits or athleisure wear are the uniforms of necessity. But what do titleholders wear when the sash and crown are stashed away.
This week, we meet Miss Bristol Micayla Barrows in the Miss Connecticut Scholarship Program.
“When I go out for an evening,” said Barrows, “whether it be to a show or to dinner, my style usually consists of lace, an elegant dresses, or any other chic/sophisticated fashion style.
“I absolutely love heels so they’re always a given along with a set of sparkly earrings and matching necklace,” said Barrows.
“When I go to school I still love dressing chic,” said Miss Bristol 2019, “but I add in some more casual pieces such as jeans or a plain top.”
“In the winter time,” she said, “I love sweaters, especially turtle necks, and I also love matching them with a pair of boots heels, again always a given.”
“In the summer time,” explained Barrows, “you may see me wearing a pair of loose polyester shorts with a chic top, or a cute floral summer dress.”
“When I’m not at an appearance and just want to be comfortable,” she said, “I love wearing jogger sweatpants with a simple T-shirt. This is also my most common outfit as a college student during midterm and finals week.”
Titleholders in any pageant system interested in being featured in “Stashing the sash fashion,” email mchaiken@ctfashionmag.com.
