When you see them compete for a crown, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, business attire, and swimsuits or athleisure wear are the uniforms of necessity. But what do titleholders wear when the sash and crown are stashed away.
This week we meet Miss North Haven Sherry Wu of the Miss America system.
When it comes to going out on the town, Wu said, “The best way to describe my style is classy. I love bold, solid colors, statement outerwear pieces such as my Joie leather jacket and Burberry trench coat, and dainty gold jewelry. ”
Additionally, Wu said, “I am a big fan of rompers and dresses. I definitely would choose to throw on a dress or a romper over jeans and a top any day. It’s easier and they make me feel my best.”
“When going out,” said Wu, “I will almost always dress up my outfit by wearing a pair of heels and a chic piece of jewelry. My outfit isn’t complete without them.”
However, when she is taking it easy, Wu said, “For my normal day to day as a college student, I try and strike a balance between comfy and cute.”
“On dressier days,” said Wu, “I will wear jeans and a flowy top with some heeled booties or a casual dress with my Adidas sneakers.”
“On more casual and relaxed days,” said Miss North Haven, I am a huge fan of athleisure — I think lululemon takes up half of my closet. I will sport leggings, a workout top, and a jacket either on or around my waist. I also love pairing leggings with an oversized sweater.”
“I am constantly running around so comfort is always a plus,” said Wu.
