Pull out your golf clubs, or simply pull up a seat at the dinner table, on May 23.
The Miss Connecticut Scholarship Organization will be holding its annual golf tournament at Chippanee Golf Club on that Thursday morning.
Miss Connecticut Bridget Oei will be lining up on the green with all of the golfers who turn out in Bristol.
“A day of golf, as I like to say, is good for the soul,” said Oei, who was first runner-up at Miss America last September. “Surround yourself with friends and beautiful nature, meet new people, celebrate and support a worthy organization making a lifelong impact for the young women involved.”
Oei said the annual golf tournament is a fun day out because “not only will you play a full round of golf on the beautiful course at Chippanee Golf Club, but there will be various prize opportunities all throughout the day.”
“In addition,” said Oei, “you will also get the chance to meet the current Miss Connecticut, myself, and Miss Connecticut’s Outstanding Teen Morgan Mancini as well as the young ladies of the class of 2019 vying for the title of Miss Connecticut 2019.”
As for this year’s venue, Oei said, “This stunning location offers a dynamic getaway from the daily routine. Beyond beautiful landscapes for an 18-hole round of golf, Chippanee Golf Club will also be serving a delicious dinner. The perfect day of relaxation and fun.”
“The money raised from the golf tournament,” said Oei, “goes to support the Miss Connecticut Scholarship Organization, a nonprofit organization geared towards helping women earn scholarship dollars for their education.”
All of the money, she said, will go toward the scholarship fund to help high school and college women pay for the direct costs of school.
If you don’t golf, said Oei, no problem.
“A dinner will be held in the evening, giving you a chance to meet with the women of the Miss Connecticut Scholarship Organization,” said Oei.
The Miss Connecticut Scholarship Organization Golf Tournament is Thursday, May 23 at Chippanee Hills Golf Club, 6 Marsh Rd., Bristol. Golfing is from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the banquet is 5 to 7:30 p.m.
The tournament is $140 for golf and dinner. The dinner alone is $50.
The event is open to everyone, not just members and friends of the Miss Connecticut Scholarship Organization, said Oei.
Tickets are available at Missct.org.
