There was throwback to the days of pinups, but with a modern twist.
The women who walked the stage March 7 at the New England Tattoo Expo were dressed head to toe in styles that harkened back to Betty Grable and Marilyn Monroe.
But on the exposed skin on the classy blasts from the past, the women displayed their tattoos. Some of the ink was broad across the skin. Other times, the tattoos were smaller providing permanent accessories to the women’s style.
The event at the Mohegan Sun was also more than a fashion show. It was a pageant where the women were asked questions about themselves and were ranked by a panel of judges as to how well the women expressed their individuality.
