The dominoes keep tipping over in fashion as New York Summer Fashion Explosion has postponed its 2020 shows in New York City, which were supposed to start June 18.
New York City is currently at the epicenter of the world’s COVID-19 pandemic, with the death toll increasing day by day.
In a note on its website, the fashion event organizers said the decision to postpone was in accordance to recommendations from federal, state, and local governments as well as recommendations from the World Health Organization.
NYSFE did keep the door open a crack to hold the event at another time in 2020. No date, however, was mentioned.
“Our priority is safety first and to make sure our patrons and partners understand that we take responsibility to encourage social distancing,” said the statement on the website.
“Take care of yourself… Stay home and stay safe,” said the fashion event organizers.
