With Lady Gaga set to release her latest album, “Chromatica,” this week, the spotlight is set to shine on outrageous, rock ‘n’ roll fashion drawing upon the outer edges of pop culture.
In September 2019, Candy-Rock Couture showed a women’s collection at Society Fashion Week that clearly was out of the Lady Gaga playbook. There were eyepopping colors straight out of anime, vinyl fabrics that were likely at home in some of the clubs that respectable people pretend don’t exist and accessories that were a futuristic extension of the glam rock of old. (There also was a contrasting men’s collection that offered Candy-Rock’s take on casual Friday’s at the corporate offices.)
