Sherline Lopez, 15, has long wanted to be a model; but the opinion of others held her back before she just decided to go for it.

Sherline said, “It’s always been my dream to become a model but growing up I was bullied for my weight and appearance. I was told I didn’t have the build to be a model so I gave up on my dreams of becoming a model.”

But Sherline, who was a recent winner at Magnifique Showcase in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. on May 22, said, “I found my passion for becoming a model again and decided to work towards my dream.”

Magnifique is organized by former “America’s Next Top Model” contestant Victoria Henley.

Sherline, who has now been modeling for two years, “I started my platform promoting body positivity. My goal is to encourage other young women who may not be a size 0 who aspire to be models to chase their dreams no matter who tells them otherwise.”

“I don’t want anyone to feel the way I did because it was extremely demotivating. now. I have a good amount of experience on the runway as well as with editorial work,” said Sherline.

Sherline also is busy in the world of pageant competition.

“I have been competing in pageants for about four years now and I currently hold the title of the 2020 Miss Indiana Junior Teen for the National American Miss system,” said Sherline.

“In addition to promoting my platform, I have over 100 hours of community service,” said Sherline. “I have donated my time to numerous nonprofit organizations in my hometown.”

Sherline also plays four instruments including the piano, violin, ukulele, and guitar and sings.

Sherline also is a volleyball and practices Tae Kwan Do.

“I am a pretty busy girl who loves to keep herself occupied,” said Sherline.
