MM Milano’s “Pluto” collection, which was shown at Society Fashion Week during New York Fashion Week on Sept. 12, was appropriately named.
As the models walked the catwalk, I had visions of Jane Fonda in the 1968 sci-fi spoof “Barbarella.” The collection also reminded me of the 1970s glam rock movement of Britain, which gave the world Queen and T. Rex. And the broad shoulders that dominated the women’s garments, with the sparkles embedded in the fabric, evoked memories of Joan Collins in the 1980s prime time soap opera, “Dynasty.”
