If you start shopping around for Christmas presents and browse the calendars available for the coming year, you might come across the 2022 installment issued by the Miss Bikini US pageant. And on the cover of that publication, Cinthia Mascorro’s photograph will be looking out at you.
Mascorro is the latest winner of the Miss Bikini US’s calendar contest.
Mascorro, who competed as Miss Bikini Illinois Fit at the organization’s national competition held in Miami this past July was elated about the opportunity to represent the organization on the cover.
“Oh my god,” the Chicago resident said in an email interview, “the feeling is like nothing else, I feel so grateful, thankful and blessed to have the cover… It feels unreal.”
To get the cover, Mascorro explained, “I got picked by votes, friends, fans, family and fitness peeps (who voted in the contest)… I will be forever grateful for every single one of them.”
For the photos on the cover, Mascorro traveled to the Indiana dunes. She worked with photographer Ed Sochaki, who did not hesitate when asked if he would do the calendar honors.
Although she is wearing swimwear on the cover, Mascorro said the shoot was held in decidedly un-swimwear worthy weather in October.
“If you are familiar with the Midwest, that time of the year is not summer for us, so it was a little cold,” said Mascorro. “But we managed to send killer images to Miss Bikini US pretending it was a super hot summer day.”
Mascorro, who was born in Mexico, had an early entry into the world of modeling.
“I got into modeling when I was super young, but unfortunately my dad was not happy about it,” said Mascorro.
“So, I waited until I was 18 years to start,” said Mascorro. “I went to sign a contract with John Robert Powers Modeling in Colorado in 2002 and my journey started.”
Mascorro grew up in Denver.
Now, she said, “I love everything about modeling. For me, modeling is passion, self-love, and self-confidence. I love that I can meet amazing and supportive people around the globe, that I can inspire other women to just go for it, and all the amazing opportunities you get down the road.”
Although the calendar finds Mascorro wearing swimwear, she said, “Honestly, I love to model everything– from couture designs to boudoir.
“The key is just to love modeling and rock any assignment you get.”
The calendar is just one step she wants to take in her modeling career.
“My ultimate goal is a billboard, to be featured at Maxim magazine and have an amazing contract with a big corporation– and to win the Miss Bikini fitness national crown,” Mascorro said.
The Miss Bikini US competition will be held again in July 2022.
