Sonya Upadhyay knows the drill. After all the Connecticut resident is a dentist by day.
But when she steps away the fluoride and floss, she has another dream.
Sonya said, “My passion lies in fashion, modeling, runway and photoshoots. I always had interest in modeling but realized my passion quite late.”
Explaining why she seeks attention outside of her dentist’s practice, Sonya said, “Life is short. If there was ever a moment to follow your passion and do something that matters to you, that moment is now.”
The recent winner of Victoria Henley’s Magnifique Showcase graduated John Casablancas in 2020 and has been working with the company for almost a year.
“2021 had been an exciting year for me as I worked on some modeling assignments, photoshoots as well as participated in Miss Fashion Global 2021 in Florida where I was the first runners up in the ‘Over 40’ category. That’s where I first met Victoria Henley (from ‘America’s Next Top Model’). I had an opportunity to walk the runway at Victoria Henley’s Magnifique Showcase where I was the winner in the ‘Portfolio Division’ as well as won ‘People’s Choice’ award.”
Sonya now looks forward to what is to come in 2022, including working with Victoria Henley some more.
Sonya also is a titleholder, currently holding the honor of being “Mrs. .Connecticut.” She will be competing this year at the Queen of the World pageant in New Jersey.
