Swimsuit designer Claudia Gutiérrez took a different approach to unveiling her new collection at hiTechMODA during New York Fashion Week on Feb. 11.
Rather than inviting the public to observer her creativity, the designer kept the show private at the Edison Ballroom. hiTechMODA invited only press and industry representatives to check out the collection.
To add to the unique approach of showing off her new line, which she dubbed Maia, Gutiérrez invited photographers to leave their traditional perch in the “pit” and rotate around the runway to take different angles of the models and the clothing. Photographers were invited to get as close to the models as they wished (while being polite).
The entire proceedings, which were introduced by B Squared Studios, were recorded for posterity and posted on YouTube.
