In his latest collection, Onyx, designer Justin Haynes played up the concept of luxury in the billing.
However, there were touches of the upcycling approach that had filled previous collections as Jus10H. But the overall approach of the 1970s inspired collection of women’s and men’s wear was sharp and polished in his runway show at hiTechMODA in the Edison Ballroom on Feb. 11 during New York Fashion Week.
There were times where the placement of fabric scraps as patch details seemed amiss and maybe a bit too random. But the collection seemed the perfect attire for a cocktail party with friends or the latest book release party at that cute little shop in Greenwich Village for that trending young author.
