The Miss America Organization calls it “Red Carpet” but evening gowns were still part of the evening’s pageantry as Miss Connecticut and Miss Connecticut’s Outstanding Teen contestants glided across the stage in their formal finery before the judges at the Mohegan Sun Cabaret Theater on Saturday.
At the end of the evening, Sylvana Gonzalez of New Britain was selected as the new Miss Connecticut. Peyton Troth of Bristol was tapped as the new Miss Connecticut’s Outstanding Teen.
