Aaliyah Cotton is a model, yes. But the 11-year-old also is an entrepreneur.
The fifth grader from Raleigh, N.C. is the daughter of Kecia Cotten and Carlos Elkerson. She models for Rogue Fashion Modeling and Talent agency. Her parents say Aaliyah loves modeling and acting and doing her own make-up.
Aaliyah, who recently participated in Victoria Henley’s Magnifique Showcase, also has her own candle business that her parents say is doing really well. She vends where she can to make her own money.
Aside from modeling and business, Aaliyah does cheerleading, karate, boxing and pageants. She had considerable success in pageants, where she has won 16 trophies in assorted categories, her parents said.
