Owned and operated by the wildly impressive designer, model, fashion entrepreneur, pageant queen, and philanthropist, Nina Thai, Angels by the Sea is one of the foremost island lifestyle and fashion brands in Waikiki, serving a vast and diverse clientele since its inception in 2010.
This popular and one-of-a-kind boutique offers two locations on the breathtaking city of Honolulu, and I was afforded the thrilling opportunity to visit the Sheraton Waikiki Resort location to select an exciting variety of lifestyle, resort, and island wear for content shoots on the glorious beaches and natural habitats, and for a specialty presentation at Paradise Island Fashion Week.
Kei Segawa, dynamic businesswoman and multi-faceted marketing entrepreneur (whom facilitated our visit for this spotlight feature), greeted us upon our arrival to the luxurious, grand Sheraton Waikiki, and we made our way into the exquisitely designed Angels By The Sea store.
David, the affable, professional, and extremely personable manager met us at the door and led us to a lovely and thoughtfully selected arrangement of maxi dresses, two-piece sets, and special occasion beachwear, which he selected for me to try on during my visit.
The store, laden with gorgeous locally made accessories, exquisitely designed resort wear, soft pastels, traditional Hawaiian Designs, and vibrant colors, could easily double as a photo backdrop, creating a serene, peaceful, and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere for patrons to select just the right styles and designs to suit their individual needs.
Segawa’s gorgeous daughter, Lynne (who modeled in our exclusive Magnifique editorial photo shoot at the Royal Hawaiian Center with @lynnhenleyphotography prior to Paradise Island Fashion Week), also tried on an assortment of outfits, and each individual look complimented her look, personality, and body type exquisitely.
Each piece I tried on throughout the duration of my visit fit beautifully (due to this company’s ardent commitment to simultaneously blending the, often mutually exclusive, elements of comfort and style), and I ended up deciding on a leisurely glamorous variety of pieces including:
An hombré-style off the shoulder maxi dress, with a cinched waist and beautifully blended hues, included tan, ocean and deep blue.
A mid-length multi-tiered sherbet colored cap sleeved sundress.
A top and pant leisure wear set, featuring calm earth tones, tassels, and pockets for a look that is both practical and unquestionably fashion-forward.
Navy blue spaghetti strap maxi-dress with traditional golden pineapple designs and embellishments
A tapered sleeve trapeze dress with a light and breezy white striped design on a navy blue color palette.
A navy blue hippie- style over jacket, which could be donned with denim shorts and a basic white tee for an effortless daytime look, or with an Angels by the Sea maxi dress for a more formal brand of chicness.
Angels by the Sea knows that customers want to capture the special moments in which they look and feel their best; therefore they have designed a store interior which is, at once, inimitably trendy and effortlessly elegant, for a photo shoot worthy backdrop on which to shoot all of your most social media-worthy looks.
We were pleased to feature Angels by the Sea in numerous, exclusive Royal Hawaiian (to be published) editorial shoots as well as the grand finale segment of Paradise Island Fashion Week.
