Danele Bee demonstrated that plus size fashion is stylish fashion.
The brand showed its collection at the 7 on 7 runway show that was part of this year’s Sound of Fashion Week Connecticut. The fashion was unveiled on Monday, Oct. 16 in New Britain.
After the show, Danele shared in a text, “I’m a native of Jamaica but migrated to in the US during high school. I’m also a registered travel nurse. But I have been designing for years. Since this was actually my first time on the runway, I didn’t create a line for the show. I actually just pulled all these pieces that I made myself over the years. The pieces (were created) from 2018 to 2023. The black gown was actually the prom dress I created for my daughter. I love catering to and including the plus-size part population (in my fashion creations because) we are often forgotten in the fashion world. So, I create original designs or even reconstruct pieces to fit a larger variety of women.”
