On the evening that they passed on their crowns to their successors in Windsor on April 14, 2023 Miss Connecticut Teen USA Jade Ferdinand and 2023 Miss Connecticut USA Karla Aponte Roque took a moment to show the audience the national costumes they wore at Miss Teen USA and Miss USA. Roque’s costume evoked the state insect, the Praying Mantis. And Ferdinand’s costume evoked the state bird, the American robin. Both costumes were the creations of Kirsten Regalado.
