Emma Woodward arrived at the casting call on April 20 ready to show the organizers of Middlesex Fashion Week that she was runway ready.
For the model from Berlin, Conn., this would be her first fashion show, thus her first time on the catwalk. But she quickly set aside her nerves at the casting to walk down the makeshift aisle at the Free Center at 52 North Main St., Middletown.
Sensing the need for some gentle coaching—and taking advantage of the empty moments before the next prospect stepped in, Middlesex Fashion Week organizer Jessi-Mar Ewart provided the model with an afternoon’s worth of tips, hints, and training so she would be as steady as a veteran when she participated in the fashion events to be held May 9-11 in and around the Middletown, Conn. area.
