Fashion designer Melanie Caballero offered her sartorial tribute to the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo at the “I Am Frida” art exhibition at El Barrio’s Artspace PS109 gallery in Harlem June 29 and 30.
A team of models dressed in Caballero’s collection inspired by the iconic artist were sent down a makeshift runway surrounded by artwork created by an international array of creatives depicting Kahlo’s visage.
