“Legends in Concert,” known and acclaimed globally as the pioneer of live tribute shows, has dazzled a myriad of fans from around the world since its debut performance at the Imperial Palace in 1985.

Subsequently awarded with many honors and accolades, including “Show of the Year,” “Entertainers of the Year,” “Grand Slam” and the prestigious “Show of Shows” by the International Press Association, Legends in Concert continues to uphold and honor its mission statement to embody the physical appearance, personality, dance movements, and of course vocal ability of some of the music industry’s biggest, brightest, and most recognizable stars.

Legends in Concert Myrtle Beach in South Carolina, the biggest and most well-attended live music tribute show in the Grand Strand, brought in their Summer 2024 season with a bang with an ’80s themed show, paying homage to a plethora of the decade’s mega stars including Cyndi Lauper (played with vivacious energy by the enigmatic Nellie Norris), Freddie Mercury (beautifully embodied by Fernando Castro), Bob Marley (brought to life by renowned reggae artist OneGunn), the beloved pop idol Prince (portrayed by recurring fan favorite Isaiah), and the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson (played with exquisite and uncanny precision and accuracy by Brandon Jones.)

The two-hour show offers state of the art lighting, a skilled live band, and exceptional dancers.

The evening kicked off with Norris as Lauper, bringing colorful and undeniably fun energy as the evening’s emcee followed by Isaiah’s Prince, who brings audiences to their feet with many of the Grammy winner’s top songs including “Let’s Go Crazy,” “Kiss,” “Little Red Corvette,” “When Doves Cry,” and the sensational dance function favorite “1999.” Additional stand out numbers include a rousing rendition of “I Would Die 4 You,” and perhaps one of the icon’s most legendary and instantly recognizable ballads, “Purple Rain.”

Lauper’s plethora of world-famous numbers are performed throughout the duration of this award winning tribute show by Norris, who fully encapsulates the delightfully quickly and inimitably charismatic mannerisms (and hard core Queens accent) of the beloved crooner, including rousing renditions of “SheBop,” “Time After Time,” an emotionally stirring performance of True Colors, and a high octane rendition of, perhaps her most popular and beloved song of all time, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.”

One Gunn pays beautiful homage to an artist who truly used his songs to unify the nations, Bob Marley, with reggae infused performances of “Could You Be Loved,” “Buffalo Soldier,” “Stir it Up,” and others.

Fernando Castro executed the nearly impossibly feat of hitting every high note and nuance of Queen’s frontman, Freddie Mercury, widely regarded as one of the best performers of all time, as he seemingly effortlessly transitions between emotionally laden ballads such as the multilayered and exceedingly complicated “Bohemian Rhapsody” to “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” building to “Another One Bites the Dust” to the universally recognizable “We Will Rock You.”

Lastly, Brandon Jones expertly aced the challenge of embodying one of the most influential and iconic pop music entertainers of all time, Michael Jackson.

Bringing you the original and one of the top tribute shows in the world with a completely live band, no lip syncing whatsoever, and performers whom provide guests the priceless experience of feeling the presence of their favorite artists, Legends in Concert Myrtle Beach continues to cement its status as a tour de force in the Grand Strand’s live entertainment scene.
