Backstage Pass: Model Victoria surfs the cocktails of Waikiki Surf Bar

Located in the beautiful Waikiki Resort Hotel in the heart of Honolulu, Hawaii, Waikiki Surf Bar features an intimate atmosphere which is, at once, sleek and stylish, yet warm and inviting.

Owned by entrepreneurial power couple, the Duteas, Surf Bar Waikiki captivates locals and tourists alike night after night with an artfully curated and expertly prepared cocktail menu, which has helped cement this uniquely charming establishment one of the island’s premier destinations for the finest quality libations.

The lounge space is a perfect atmosphere for a girls or guys night out, corporate events, bachelorette and bachelor parties (and much, much more).

I had the immense pleasure of visiting this festive and fun establishment for an exclusive spotlight  feature to provide insights on all the sips and treats you’ll want to savor during your visit. Selecting merely a few spirits from the extensive menu seemed an insurmountable feat at first glance; however, we fortunately had the help, guidance, and expertise of the manager on duty, Dylan Dixon, who facilitated a superb menu for our experience, brimming with variety and enticing flavors.

Below are a few of our favorites and recommendations:

COCKTAILS:

Maunakea Mai Tai: Served in a “treasure chest” style box and billowing with clouds of pillowy “smoke” once opened by your server or bartender, this wildly popular island concoction features Mahina Rum, Agave De Cores Mezcal, Pineapple, Citrus, Dry Curaçao, and Orgeat. Smoked to perfection with flavored wood chips.

Starburst Sour: Served in a dainty, delicate, and daring custom “flute” style glass that bears resemblance to a lady’s bust and torso, this cheeky spirit combines locals only vodka, strawberry, peach, citrus, and egg whites. Refreshing and filled with a menagerie of fruity flavors.)

New York Crush: A rich, satisfying beverage as glamorous and iconic as the New York City skyline. Featuring house-infused cinnamon moonshine, Noble Oak Bourbon, Pandan, Honey, Citrus, Egg Whites, white and red wine float.

MOCKTAILS: The non-drinkers in your party will be sure to delight in the fact that nearly every beverage on Surf Bar Waikiki’s menu can be made “virgin” –alcohol free– to ensure you experience all the flavor without the buzz!)

Pina Colada: This quintessential poolside classic is made sans rum with cream of coconut, pineapple juice, vanilla and a slice of delectably fresh pineapple on top.

Mojito: Made minus the white rum, this Cuban cocktail will leave you feeling refreshed and fabulous! Featuring fresh mint, squeezed lime juice, sugar /sugar cane juice and club soda for an added pop of fizz.

CHARCUTERIE BOARD:

In addition to the state of the art cocktail offerings, Surf  Bar Waikiki also offers scrumptious and meticulously prepared charcuterie boards, utilizing only the finest ingredients that provide guests with a truly one of a kind tasting experience to enjoy with their aperitif of choice.

Tandem Board: A rotating charcuterie section provided by Little Italy Hawaii, and vegetarian options are also available. Recommended to be enjoyed by parties of two or more. Featuring a specially prepared board of green olives, fresh dates, assorted meats, dried fruits and rich jams.
