Upon arrival to this wildly unique and dynamic women-owned and operated spa, we were warmly greeted by the staff and presented informative and comprehensive materials regarding the vast array of services offered onsite.
Accompanied by Kei Segawa, our liaison for all of the “best of the best” businesses in Hawaii, we carefully poured over the assortment of packages to see which would be the best fit for our group.
As we mulled our options, we were presented a pleasing and palatable variety of teas, including a mugwort tea (an herbal tea made from the dried leaves and stems of the mugwort plant, Artemisia vulgaris) and pineapple vinegar tea (a sweet, yet tart, beverage specifically curated to improve digestion, reduce inflammation, supports the immune system and can also help your body to absorb nutrients more efficiently.)
Selecting merely one option from the extensive menu of offerings was a seemingly insurmountable feat; however, due to the expert guidance of the highly accommodating staff and the detailed and explicitly written service descriptions, we were able to decide upon the options that best suited our needs.

Yomogi Base Herbs and Chinese Herbal Selections:
This world class spa offers mugwort steaming, which utilizes high quality, pesticide-free mugwort produced in the Tokushima Prefecture. Adding the pesticide-free Chinese herbs allows you to experience the effects of relaxation and refreshment of both body and mind.
1: DETOX: This option is excellent for perspiration and detoxification as well as breaking down fat.
2: WOMEN: Prevention of various gynecological diseases and relief of women’s diseases. Excellent in clearing inflammation, antibacterial, and analgesic action.

Once we had each selected our customized spa experience option, Kei, Lynn and I slipped into our individual private changing spaces to remove clothing and settle into a pod, which helps retain heat to promote absorption of steam and release of built up toxins in the body.
The timer was set to 45 minutes (which is recommended by most experts as the set time frame during which to enjoy your Yomogi steam experience); however, patrons may control the heat level of their own steaming experience by either fully submerging within the draping for increased intensity or allowing head and arms to be exposed for decreased levels of warmth.
